Rebecca Haeusler received her BS in Biology from MIT in 2000 and her PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan in 2007. She has been awarded dozens of academic honors, including the Distinguished Dissertation Award from the University of Michigan, The Schaefer Research Scholar Award, the David L Williams Award for lipid research, the Journal of Clinical Investigation Lectureship, the ATVB Special Recognition Award in Vascular Biology from the American Heart Association, and the Gill Heart and Vascular Institute Award.
Rebecca is an expert in insulin signaling and metabolic control. She has published over forty scientific articles and given over one hundred scientific lectures worldwide. Becky holds editorial positions at PLOS Biology and Diabetes and is the chair of the board of directors of the Deuel Lipid Conference. She is the associate director of Columbia’s Digestive and Liver Disease Center and co-director of the Integrated PhD program in Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Studies.
Rebecca prioritizes mentorship, and the trainees in her laboratory have won over twenty awards and fellowships and coauthored over twenty scientific articles.
